Do you know that I am on my feet even as I type this? You may wonder why the need for the “unnecessary” exercise. What is the purpose, you ask yourself even as you curiously want to satisfy yourself that the need was driven by the absence of a “sittable” (permit the grammar) chair.
Well, I will, if I have the ability sit on more than one chair as there are about ten of them here. But I stood to ensure that the title of this piece is not only correct but that it also convey the true picture of what is happening around me. I am still standing? Oh, I have taken my seat after typing the 1st sentence..hu..oh.
When you consider the many that have fallen by the wayside then you wont consider it fruitless for me to consider my own good-standing. The truth is that tens of thousands have fallen by the wayside, into the abyss of life, into the dungeons on the street, into the unfilled tombs, into the ever-widening gap between the rich and the poor, into the flow of “siddon look”, into the gulags and the not_so_comfortable hospital beds.
This is just to thank God who has not only helped me to maintain my standing but who has also made me outstanding.
Though, many believed they are still standing, they only need to look beneath their legs to discover that they are only standing on temporary sea-waves which can be wiped out at any moment, they are standing on empty promises of relations, they are standing on the riches of parents and forebears. some are even standing on their own personal achievement and credentials.
What are you standing on? I really want to know, cos it can even make me consider my stand. Ok, I will tell you what I am standing on, you sure you really want to know., alright, you win, it s the simple, undeserved, unmerited, fulfilling free grace of God.
